Flights stalled as air traffic staff strike
Flights across Europe are facing disruption due to coordinated strikes by air traffic controllers.
The strikes have been called by a union representing air traffic controllers in 28 countries including Italy, Germany, Portugal and France.
Airlines have been working around the industrial action, cancelling some flights and delaying others.
Airlines operating to and from Paris airports on Wednesday were requested to reduce their flying programmes by 20%.
The industrial action has been called by the Air Traffic Controllers European Unions Coordination in protest over the European Commission’s plans to cut costs, which it argues will raise safety concerns.
