Flybe signs lease agreement for its white label service
Flybe has signed an agreement with Avation PLC to lease four new turboprop aircraft for use on its white label operations for Scandinavian carrier SAS.
The airline announced last November that it had entered into a white label agreement with SAS, with operations due to commence in October 2015.
The leases are for an initial period of six years with extension rights thereafter.
They will be delivered between September 2015 and February 2016 – and will be introduced into service shortly afterwards.
The aircraft will operate under Flybe’s Airline Operating Certificate (AOC), will be used on short-haul SAS services in Europe and are being provided with full flight and cabin crew as well as maintenance.
Saad Hammad, Flybe’s chief executive officer, said: "Flybe is delivering SAS a regional capacity solution for their short haul flights and we look forward to starting our operations in Scandinavia later this year."
