Fred. Olsen plans agent training roadshows

Tuesday, 10 Mar, 2008 0

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be running an agent training roadshow around the UK and Ireland in June for the third year running.

The training will be held in Colchester, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Dublin, Bristol, Newcastle, Exeter, Cork, Chester, Carlisle and Guildford.

With 40 agents attending each session, a total of 600 agents will participate.

The line is working in conjunction with field sales specialists The Network to source venues.

The “Focus on Fred. Olsen” programme will comprise a four-hour, classroom style seminar covering product knowledge and retail cruise marketing, plus a lunch break and opportunity for networking with the sales team and other agents.

Ongoing agent training also includes regular ship visits with seminars and tours on board when the ships are in UK ports on a turnaround day, as well as tailor-made in-store training and marketing support.

The online Focus on Fred. Olsen training programme is also proving popular with agents at the Travel Agents’ Centre on the website www.fredolsencruises.co.

It consists of five modules that agents can complete at their own pace. The training modules are straightforward and fun to do, packed with useful tips on how to sell cruises.  The five sections are:-

  • Why Cruise?

  • Your Guide to Cruising

  • All You Need to Know

  • Why a Fred. Olsen cruise?
  • The Fred. Olsen Difference

The five sections take agents through all the key factors about cruising:- how to match the customer to the cruise, answers to frequently asked questions, different types of cruises, what’s included and what’s not – then goes on to explain the key differences about Fred. Olsen, focusing on the smaller ships, friendly atmosphere, personal service and huge choice of destinations from many regional ports.
