Free Travel Technology Advice

Tuesday, 22 Dec, 2004 0

Equinus, the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy, will once again be manning the Advice Centre at next year’s Travel Technology Show. The Advice Centre, sponsored by Amadeus, Equinus and SourceIT-Travel.com, was a focal point for many of the 2,000 visitors to the inaugural Show in 2004. Next year’s Show will be at Olympia, London on 1st & 2nd February 2005. The Centre is available to all visitors for free advice from Equinus. Consultants will be on hand throughout the Show and appointments can be booked in advance. As well as discussing a wide range of technology topics, visitors will be able to check which exhibitors have relevant products and solutions. Last year the Centre was the first point of call for many visitors, most of whom wanted to know which suppliers they should visit and what questions to ask. Visitors spent an average of 30 minutes per consultation so pre-booking is highly recommended. One lucky visitor was Michael Birtles of European Rail who won a 5-day consultancy project in the Equinus business card draw. Michael asked Equinus to review his options to improve the automated handoff of Galileo bookings to the back-office accounting system. The project highlighted developments that could streamline work processes, as well as other opportunities such as remote or home-working. It also helped European Rail make a balanced judgement of the most suitable options. Mike Cogan, Partner, Equinus comments: “At a time when travel technology has become a key business issue and agents and operators are worried about costs and risks, the Advice Centre is the best place to visit for free, independent advice. Equinus is the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy and we will have at least four consultants on hand for both days”. “We provided advice to nearly 100 visitors last year, who were then directed to exhibitors and suppliers with relevant solutions. But at an average 30 minutes per consultation, it’s best to book sessions in advance.” “Equinus is also sponsoring a discount on the new SourceIT-Travel.com Technology Guide for visitors to the Centre. All in all, another good reason for visiting the Travel Technology Show.” David Chapple, the Travel Technology Show Event Director, added: “The Advice Centre was a great success last year. Visitors were able to use their time at the show productively and only spoke to those exhibitors who had the solutions that met with their need, whilst exhibitors were happy as they were meeting visitors who were specifically interested in their products.” Visitors to the Centre will be able to purchase a discounted copy the all new 2005/06 Technology Guide being published by SourceIT-Travel.com. This new, international Guide lists nearly 600 travel technology suppliers, many of whom will be exhibiting at the Show. The Guide will be available at the Centre at the Show price of GBP25, a substantial saving on the normal price of GBP49.
