Galileo in AXA Insurance deal
Galileo is to provide AXA Insurance travel polices for agents to sell.
Agents who are ABTA, IATA or ATOL bonded who want to use the GDS to sell insurance have to sign up with Galileo and become approved to sell. The sale of travel insurance has to be linked to a flight booking.
Selling the policies through Galileo requires no additional training, according to the GDS.
All approved agents will sell on account and settle directly with Galileo with 30 days credit while invoicing links directly into the agents’ back office system.
Galileo UK country manager Patrick Lukan said: “Galileo agencies can now have a more holistic proposition to their clients.
“Our agents also benefit from additional commission earnings and ease of use. In turn, their customers benefit from the convenience of a ‘one-stop-shop’ and the security of knowing that AXA is a reliable and trusted travel insurer.”
AXA Corporate Partnerships business development director Selim Cavanagh said: “Agents and consumers will significantly benefit from an integrated platform, through the provision of additional efficiencies and an improved customer experience.”
