Gatwick passengers to be hit by rail closure at Christmas
Gatwick Express trains will be suspended from Christmas Day to January 1, affecting passengers’ travel plans during the busy holiday period.
The rail operator said the closure was to allow for essential improvement work between Redhill and Purley, at Gatwick Airport and at London Victoria stations.
It suggested passengers use the longer Southern Rail services instead.
There will be further disruption on the line throughout January, as services will be suspended on Sunday 12 and 26 and there will be a reduced service on other Sundays throughout the month.
Passengers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
