GBTA creats new global role
The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) has appointed Paul Tilstone to the newly created role of chief global development officer, starting on January 1, 2012.
Tilstone, who is currently CEO of the Institute of Travel & Meetings, announced his move to the GBTA as managing director Europe in July.
He will continue to lead GBTA’s development in Europe as part of these increased leadership responsibilities.
Executive director of GBTA Michael W. McCormick said: “The new role demonstrates GBTA’s commitment to foster leadership and staff excellence in all corners of the globe. We operate in a truly global business and GBTA can deliver real value to professionals operating in this sector wherever they are located. Paul’s role will be to help GBTA achieve its true potential globally.”
Tilstone will focus on the development of new regions and interest groups for GBTA and its partners in high growth markets and optimise best practices from all GBTA regions, he said.
