Ghost town is hot luxury destination
Dunton Hot Springs near Telluride, Colorado, is perhaps the only luxury travel destination that is a ghost town, says WOWConfidential.
Luxury Travel Magazine rated it one of ten best in the world. It’s also been termed “America’s best kept-secret.”
Dunton itself it an authentic old west, gold rush town with 15 private cabins nestled in an alpine valley with natural hot springs scattered throughout the property. The surroundings are rugged and pristine with 14,000 foot high mountain peaks, alpine springs, waterfalls, river and lakes.
Guest cabins are 19th-century hand-hewn log buildings once occupied by miners, restored by local and Native American craftsmen. All are furnished with custom luxury amenities.
Activities include horseback riding, hiking and fly fishing.
Prices starting at about $650 include all meals, wi-fi and use of the various hot springs on the property.
