Gill’s staff re-hired by WeCruise

Friday, 08 Aug, 2011 0

Some 34 staff who were previously employed by failed cruise giant Gill’s Cruises have been re-hired by P&P Associates following its purchase of the collapsed company’s assets.

Gill’s employed some 200 staff in Cardiff and London prior to its financial failure in July.

Phil Cook, chief executive of P&P Associates, which has launched a new brand WeCruise following its purchase of the Gill’s website and customer database said: “We wanted to re-employ people who knew the business and Gill’s Cruise Centre had a great team. However, there is no link with the previous owners.”

A spokeswoman for P&P also confirmed that former Gill’s finance director Aiden Treacy, who was brought in to try to rescue the beleaguered company shortly before its demise, is running the new business.
