Global Travel Group reports surge in sales
The Global Travel Group recorded double-digit sales growth across its 350-strong contingent of independent travel agents last month.
Forward bookings for 2018 are also up year-on-year by 18%.
Top performing destinations for 2017 so far include Spain with bookings up by 90% year-on-year, including the Balearics and Canary Islands, followed by Italy and a UK staycation seeing a 20% and 15% growth in sales respectively.
Further afield bookings to Mauritius and the Indian Ocean are up by over 100% with the UAE securing 15% growth year-on-year to date.
The news comes soon after the consortium reported a 22% increase in new members over the past 12 months.
