Grab launches tour service in Cebu
Southeast Asia’s ride hailing titan Grab is making further moves in the travel business with a new tourist-focused transport service in the Philippines.
Targeting independent tourists keen to sightsee at their own pace, Rent by Grab is a tour and driver service bookable by app.
It has been launched in Cebu.
Users can choose the type of vehicle for their party size, either a four-seater sedan or a 10-seater van.
Sedan rates range from US$10-$120 while vans can be booked hourly with a minimum of one hour up to a full 10-hour day.
"Rent by Grab is an instant booking service offered in the Grab App where users can book a tourist car that has a driver with tour packages, and can take them hourly around the best tourist destinations in Cebu," Raymond Dejan, Grab Cebu senior city manager told local media.
The service currently only accepts payments by GrabPay.
Grab recently made its first meaningful move in the travel space with the ability for users to make in-app hotel bookings.
