Grab now offering in-app travel insurance
Southeast Asia’s largest rideshare operator Grab is expanding its ‘super app’ ambitions.
It is now offering travel insurance for users, starting in Singapore.
Singaporeans can now purchase an insurance policy called Travel Cover for travel to destinations globally, thanks to a partnership between Grab and Chubb.
It starts at $2.50 a day.
It will be rolled out to users in other ASEAN countries in the coming weeks.
"Our partnership with Grab allows us to develop more customer-centric insurance solutions that align with the varied lifestyles of consumers," said Scott Simpson, Singapore country president for Chubb.
The insurance product adds to Grab’s growing suite of services bookable through the app, including the core ride hailing services, food delivery, payment processing, hotel bookings, live event ticketing and on-demand video streaming.
To mark the launch, Grab is offering the first 20,000 customers insurance for trips within the Asia Pacific region at only $1 per day.
