Harbour Air’s eBeaver electric plane makes international debut
North America’s largest seaplane airline Harbour Air announced its eBeaver, the first fully electric aircraft powered by a magniX electric engine completed its international debut.
It operated two flights at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture show in Oshkosh, WI last week.
EAA AirVenture is the largest annual air show showcasing experimental aviation.
It was expected to attract more than 650,000 attendees, industry leaders and aviation enthusiasts.
“EAA AirVenture 2024 was an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate that a more sustainable future in regional air transportation is possible,” said Bert van der Stege, CEO of Harbour Air.
In early 2024, Harbour Air signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with magniX to secure the supply of 50 magni650 electric engines, and a LOI with Bel-Air Aviation for three converted aircraft upon certification.
“The eBeaver powered by magniX’s electric engines, is a great example of how the aviation industry can decarbonize, without compromise,” said Riona Armesmith, Chief Technology Officer of magniX.
