Hawaii Tourism Authority agrees partnership with LA Clippers

Sunday, 07 Dec, 2016 0
The Hawaii Tourism Authority is bringing the L.A. Clippers to the Aloha State as part of a tourism marketing partnership.

The NBA team will hold its 2017 training camp at the University of Hawaii campus and conduct a Fan Fest in Hawaii featuring players and coaches.

The marketing partnership will showcase the destination online and in-game branding at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles during the 2016-2017 regular season.

"This marketing partnership is ideal for both of our futures. The Clippers are one of the NBA’s hottest teams with a growing fan base in Hawaii and across the Pacific, and the Hawaiian Islands is a favorite destination for travelers from southern California," said Leslie Dance, HTA vice president of marketing and product development

"It will be a very exciting week when the Clippers come to Hawaii for training camp next fall. Our residents, especially the kids, will enjoy the Fan Fest and seeing them play in person."

Details of the training camp and other events being held in Hawaii will be announced at a later date.

"We already are looking forward to the Clippers training camp in Hawaii and working closely with the Hawaii Tourism Authority to showcase the beauty of the state," said Clippers president of business operations Gillian Zucker.
