Heathrow Express strike to go ahead
Anyone heading for Heathrow Airport by train next month should be aware that the Heathrow Express service could be hit by industrial action.
The rail union Aslef yesterday voted to hold three one-day strikes, on 3, 10 and 24 October; the Guardian reports that the union has 104 members among Heathrow Express’s 236 staff, and that some 85 per cent of drivers on the service are union members.
The rail link, which is used by some 14,000 travellers each day, runs from Paddington to the airport.
