Heavy snowfall snarled air travel across Japan, Korea
Record-low temperatures and heavy snowfall caused widespread travel disruption in Japan and Korea this week.
Trains and planes were halted and dozens of rail users in Kyoto and Shiga prefectures were stranded overnight in carriages or at stations,
At least one person died in Japan amid record low temperatures in the country.
Heavy snowfall filled much of the country as hundreds of flights had to be canceled.
In South Korea, temperatures plunged to minus 15-20 C .
Hundreds of flights from the holiday island of Jeju were grounded earlier this week, stranding about 40,000 travellers.
Air traffic in Jeju has slowly returned to normal.
Cold weather warnings were also issued in North Korea.
