Hertz is trialing a new monthly car subscription service.
It is the latest car rental firm to try a subscription service which it calls ‘Hertz My Car.’
It will initially be available in the cities of Austin and Atlanta.
There are two subscription packages, starting at $999 for full-size sedans, small SUVs and trucks.
For $1,399 per month users can get luxury sedans, regular sized SUVs and larger trucks.
They can swap their vehicle up to twice a month for another within the same tier or pay an additional $75 for additional swaps.
Hertz is also charging a $250 enrolment fee.
Users have a 2,000-mile monthly allotment included and then charge $0.35 cents per mile.
Enterprise also recently rolled out a similar subscription service.
It costs more at $1,499 per month but includes 3,000 miles of driving and up to four vehicle swaps.
Various other car manufactures like Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, and Audi are working on their own monthly subscription programs.
