Hilton Hotels opens 100th property in Asia Pacific
Hilton Hotels & Resorts has marked a major milestone with the opening of its 100th property in Asia Pacific.
That was reached with the recent unveiling of Hilton Hangzhou Xiaoshan in China.
Greater China is Hilton’s top market in the region.
"Hangzhou is becoming the hub of leading high-tech and internet companies on the east coast of China. The arrival of Hilton’s flagship brand in the city, close to Hangzhou High Tech Industrial Development Zone, Binjiang, where the burgeoning Zheshang businesses are concentrated, underscores Hangzhou’s rising strategic importance," said Hilton area president Quan Jin.
The company now has more than 220 hotels open in the region across its various bands with an additional 440 in development.
It says a third of all hotels currently under construction in Greater China are part of its brand portfolio.
