Hilton shares rise on results
Travel and tourism shares suffered somewhat yesterday as London’s main equity indices went into reverse.
The FTSE 100 index dropped 44.4 points to end the day at 4988.5, while the FTSE 250 had a similar session, losing 19.8 points and closing at 7175.4.
There were few significant moves yesterday; however, Hilton Group shares have risen 5.25p to 317.25p in early trading after announcing that pre-tax profits have risen from £171 million in 2003 to £311 million last year.
