Hilton teams up with Uber
Hotel chain Hilton is about to embrace the sharing economy with a partnership targeting Uber riders.
Hilton guests can set up ‘Ride Reminders’ notifications to request Uber pickups to and from its hotels worldwide.
Hilton guests will also be encouraged to use Uber to explore each of the destinations that Hilton hotels are located in.
Members of the HHonors loyalty program can also make use of restaurant and entertainment guides based on their popularity with Uber customers, which will be rolled out on the HHonors mobile app for 20 US cities next month.
"By partnering with Uber, a leading innovator, we’re helping travelers explore destinations like they’re locals," said Rich DiStefano, senior director of mobile products at Hilton Worldwide.
"This is the first time any company has leveraged Uber riders’ most frequented destinations to provide local recommendations. We’re excited to offer these unique benefits for our loyal guests."
The Uber ride hailing smartphone app has launched in more than 300 cities
