Hilton to honour all Super Break bookings

Hilton Hotels has said its brands will not inflate prices on Super Break rebookings, confirming they will be honoured at the original rate.

Hilton clarified its position after Graeme Brett, owner of Westoe Travel, posted on the Travel Gossip Facebook site to say that, while chains such as Holiday Inn, Jurys and Crowne Plaza all allowed Super Break rebookings at the same price, ‘one chain’ had asked for double.

He threatened to ‘name and shame’ the company and then called for a boycott.

On Monday, Graeme updated Travel Gossip members to say: "I posted last week about a hotel that had refused to honour a Super Break price of £435 and tried to charge £985 until I told them I would name and shame the individual hotel on Travel Gossip.

"The hotel was one of the Hilton chain. Since then many other agents have contacted me with similar experiences with Hilton.

"I was so annoyed that I began contacting people who were organising travel events at Hilton hotels, asking them to consider changing the venue.

"ABTA has called me this morning to say that they have spoken with the senior management at Hilton and have been assured that all Hilton hotels will now honour Super Break prices for all rebookings."

A Hilton spokeswoman told TravelMole: "Hilton is honouring all bookings made via Super Break, which will be charged at the pre agreed rate. Any guests wishing to rebook a cancelled reservation will also be charged at the pre agreed rate."
