Hilton Worldwide expanding in India with 20 more hotels

Tuesday, 15 Apr, 2016 0
Global hospitality giant Hilton Worldwide has unveiled plans to introduce 20 more hotels in India within the next two years.

Rupert Hallam, vice president of sales – Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide said the company will add properties in established markets including Goa, Bangalore and Lucknow.

"We have got around 20 hotels in the pipeline for India in the next couple of years. India is a very strategic market for us, and we will surely grow in this market but we are looking at a sustainable approach. We will carefully launch the right brands in the right locations with the right partners."

"We are looking to open Hilton Goa, Hilton Garden Inn Lucknow, and Conrad Bangalore," he added.

Hilton recently launched its Conrad brand in the country.

The company recently reached out to the Indian travel trade, hotel partners and developers during the multi-day Hilton Worldwide 2016 India Showcase held in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

It attracted more than 500 interested partners the company said.

Only five of Hilton’s 13 brands are present in India and it has no immediate plans to increase that for the time being.

"Most of our brands are American centric, so as of now we don’t have any plans to introduce new brands in India," said Hallam.
