HNA Group buys 10 Seattle golf courses

China conglomerate HNA Group is spending $137 million to acquire 10 golf courses in the Seattle area.

Under the terms of the deal current owner Seattle-based Oki Golf will continue to manage the 10 courses for a five year period.

"The directors are of the view that Seattle will be an excellent gateway to tap into the North America (especially the US) golf tourism market, which has good long term prospects and development potentials in the foreseeable future," said HNA executive director Xu Haohao in a statement.

HNA has constantly been on the international acquisition trail buying up stakes in major tourism and aviation brands.

The parent company of China’s Hainan Airlines earlier this year agreed to buy Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and took a stake in Brazilian carrier Azul.
