Holiday Extras adds short breaks insurance policy

Friday, 31 Oct, 2005 0

Holiday Extras has introduced a new short breaks policy to its insurance portfolio bringing the number of policies on offer up to six.

The move is designed to complement the company’s move into the short breaks market with the launch of Show and Stay, a London theatre breaks programme, and theme park breaks to Legoland and Alton Towers.

The short breaks insurance will allow agents more flexibility in catering to client needs in a market place where demand for short breaks continues to increase, the company says.

Further benefits to agents also include a referral system, which allows retailers to boost their earnings by up to 13% by referring walk-in business to the Holiday Extras call centre and receiving a commission.

An automatic annual renewals system which is soon to be launched will offer customers the chance to seamlessly renew their annual insurance without lifting a finger, driving earnings upwards by increasing renewal conversion levels, according to the company.

Head of insurance Shelley Roberts said: “We are living in a cash-rich, time-poor age and with low cost airlines making short breaks to Europe more accessible than ever before, we are responding to the demand for insurance covering one to four day trips.

“Our new short breaks insurance will provide agents with more flexibility than ever before in choosing the right policy to meet their customers requirements.”

The short breaks policy further widens Holiday Extras’ insurance portfolio following the introduction of an option for backpackers.

Holiday Extras is working with long established travel underwriter Fortis Insurance.

The partnership further establishes Holiday Extras as knowledgeable, reliable and forward-thinking travel insurance provider, the company says.

Holiday Extras offers a choice of 109 airport hotels, 54 on and off airport car parks, 23 airport lounges, London short breaks, airport chauffeur service, car hire to and from airport and foreign exchange.
