Homeland to the future
The future for Norwegian Cruise Line: expansion in its Homeland Cruising markets.
The company’s announcement of its 2005-2006 deployment expanded its presence there.
“Homeland cruising is a core business strategy for the company both today and as we plan for the future,” said Colin Veitch, president and CEO of NCL.
The company plans next year to deploy three ships in Hawaii, sailing 7-10-and 11-day cruises out of Honolulu. It also plans a fourth ship in Alaska, with three ships out of Seattle and one out of Vancouver.
In the Caribbean, Mr Veitch said the company would deploy cruises from ports that include Charleston, Houston, Miami, New Orleans and New York.
NCL will also deploy Norwegian Star back to Los Angeles, where the ship will continue 8-day itineraries featuring the industry’s only weekly cruise out of LA to include the Mexican Rivera’s famous playground, Acapulco.
