Hong Kong Disneyland reopens this week

The Hong Kong Disneyland theme park announced it will reopen again on Friday.

It starts welcoming guests again on 25 September and will operate five days a week initially.

It has been closed twice over the past few months due to government Covid-19 controls.

"In alignment with the latest guidance, the resort will continue its measured approach such as capacity control, health screenings, temperature checks, requiring face masks, social distancing, and increased cleaning and sanitisation," HKDL said in a statement.

It will stay closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice and will extend validity of annual passes.

It is changing the way it operates character photo sessions and live performances will only take place outdoors.

The resort reopened on 18 June but was forced to close again a month later due to a second wave of infections.

Hong Kong’s other major theme park Ocean Park reopened at the end of last week.
