Booking site Ebookers is to launch a search for a “hotel inspector” who will be sent to 10 hotels around the world to check out the facilities.

The winner will tweet and blog about what they find on their travels as well as posting pictures and video for the public to follow at the URL www.ebookers.com/travel-blog/.

Head of offline marketing for ebookers UK, France and Ireland Steven Rice said: "Choosing the right hotel can be a stressful task and our search for the ebookers’ hotel inspector aims to take some of the stress out of the decision-making process, by producing high quality reviews for our customers.

"This is a great opportunity for one lucky person to travel the world to locate the ultimate hotel, sharing their personal tips and experiences to our customers along the way.

"We’re looking for people with a passion for travel to help uncover the best hotels on offer and if you think you’ve got what it takes to become ebookers hotel inspector we encourage you to get in touch."

To become the ebookers’ hotel inspector, applicants should email entries to [email protected]  before Friday July 23.

All entries must include the following: contact details, a photo and 250 words saying what they look for in a hotel, where they think the best hotels are and why they should be chosen to be the inspector.
