Hotel properties hot in Jamaica
Thirteen new hotels by a Spanish developer worth more than a half billion dollars are set to be built in the next five to ten years in Jamaica.
Said Paul Pennicook, Jamaica’s director of tourism:
“We are seeing great buoyancy in the development of hotel properties in Jamaica, a strong sign for the island’s tourism infrastructure.”
“We are pleased to see developers are offering a diverse product range, which will no doubt serve our goal of reaching wider markets,” he added.
The addition of the new properties will add 5,000 rooms on the island.
Other hotel-related developments now underway in Jamaica include SuperClubs opening its 104-unit Rooms on the Beach property late last year and the RIV Palace planning to add 850 rooms this year.
