Online accommodation supplier hotels4u.com has claimed record turnover as it relaunches its website.

The company said June 18 was its best sales day on record with a turnover of around £500,000 while its best sales week of June 11-17 generated £3 million.

June is forecast to be the best sales month on record with forecast turnover of £10 million.

The new-look site is designed to cut search and response times through what the company describes as intuitive navigation and a new design.

New to the site are interactive maps, larger accommodation images, climate charts, the ability to search by hotel name and dedicated homepages for beach, city and transfers.

An amenity search function covering children’s clubs, spas and private beaches is to be added as well as insurance and car hire options.

Sales and marketing director John Harding said: “Our aim in developing the site as to aid agents as much as possible in their search for exactly the right type of accommodation at the right price, matched with the facility to check live availability and book immediately.”
