How to find your way on Route 66
SYDNEY – DriveAway Holidays is offering the latest GPS systems for Australians planning a self-drive holiday in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The systems cost from $9.90 a day, and with courier delivery in Australia there’s time to “learn the ropes†of the unit before leaving home.
The rental company says GPS units rented in Europe can cost up to 50 percent more than DriveAway Holidays’ price, and often come with restrictions and limited availability.
“By paying in Australian dollars before leaving home, it ensures there are no nasty surprises because of currency fluctuations once you get to Europe or the USA,†said chief marketing officer, Chris Hamill.
“Further, we cap rental at 40-days, so if you need your GPS for longer than this the maximum you would pay in Europe or America would be A$451.â€
All DriveAway Holidays’ GPS units are Gamin Nuvi 300 models and feature full maps, travel guides, locations of amenities, a currency converter, MP3 player, and can be used in pedestrian mode as well as in-car.
