Hogg Robinson Group has acquired Washington-based corporate travel specialist, Executive Travel Associates (ETA).

The company will continue to be led by CEO Ray Pierce as an independent part of the group, but reporting into HRG president North America, Tom Gleason.

Gleason said: “It’s a very nice fit. The company has many high-end clients – law firms and finance – and we are very proud to have Ray’s expertise.

HRG has built up its North American business in the last few years, acquiring Sea Gate Travel Group in April 2005 and Robustelli World Travel in February 2006.

HRG CEO David Radcliffe added: “Our reputation is growing rapidly in North America and there is more to come.”

Speaking at a press dinner after the Business Travel Show in London, Radcliffe took the opportunity to dispel rumours in the industry that he is ill due to too much travelling.

“The rumour was started by one of our competitors in the US who was bidding against us for an account. It’s absolutely ridiculous,” he said.
