Hyatt appoints new development head for Canada
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced Scott Richer as Hyatt’s regional vice president of development for Canada.
Based in Toronto, Richer will lead the growth of Hyatt’s full service and select service brands in Canada and brings over 14 years’ hospitality experience.
He began his career in operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Australia and spent several years at Canadian group Delta Hotels and Resorts, which is being sold to Marriott International.
At Delta Richer served varied roles in sales, marketing and development, latterly as development director.
"Scott has the leadership skills and requisite experience to propel Hyatt’s full service and select service growth in Canada," said Julienne Smith, Hyatt’s senior vice president of franchise and managed development.
With his extensive knowledge of the hotel industry, as well as his broad range of owner and industry relationships, we’re excited to have Scott lead this charge."
