Hyatt marks Asia debut of Centric brand in Tokyo
US based hotel group Hyatt celebrated the Asian Pacific debut of its Centric brand, with the opening of the Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo.
Occupying the 12-storey Ginza Asahi Building, the hotel has 164 guest rooms.
"Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo is the nineteenth addition to the brand’s worldwide portfolio and as the brand’s first hotel in Asia-Pacific – it marks a significant milestone for both the Hyatt Centric brand and Hyatt. As we celebrate this expansion, we look forward to the future growth of the brand," said Sam Sakamura, vice president of Hyatt for Japan and Micronesia.
The hotel features art in the lobby and public spaces, and a signature restaurant and bar.
"Our hotel staff are savvy explorers and ready to provide guests with local tips for restaurants, bars, shops, theaters and more. The hotel is designed to make guests feel welcomed in the heart of city whether to relax or explore," said general manager Tadanori Uchiyama.
The Ginza district is one of Tokyo’s most fashionable with numerous upscale dining, shopping and entertainment.
Hyatt Centric is targeted at ‘millennial-minded’ guests seeking urban exploration, with hotels situated in prime downtown locations.
