Iberia deploys record capacity to Latin America

Friday, 08 Aug, 2025 0

Iberia has surpassed its previous record for connectivity between Latin America and Europe, scheduling a capacity of more than 5.5 million seats in 2015.

This is up 5% on the more than the 5.3 million offered in 2024.

This figure marks a new record for the airline.

This growth will mean that Iberia will operate more than 350 flights across the Atlantic in 2025 to Latin in a week.

“We are very proud to present these figures on connectivity between Latin America and Europe, which help us to continue consolidating our strong leadership position between the two regions,” says Marina Colunga, Iberia’s Commercial Director for Latin America.

It represents significant growth in several of these markets:

Peru: with two daily flights.
Chile: will end the year with 12 weekly frequencies.
Puerto Rico: will have up to 11 flights per week.
Dominican Republic: will end 2025 and begin 2026 with two flights per day, except for one day of the week.

These capacity increases are in addition to other growth consolidated in the last weeks of last year, such as the increase to three daily flights to Buenos Aires and two daily flights to Sao Paulo.

Similarly, the routes to Mexico City and Bogotá have three daily flights each, while Montevideo, Quito, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica have one flight per day.

Finally, Rio de Janeiro and Caracas have five weekly flights, while Panama City, Havana and Guayaquil have three weekly flights.

On 13 December, Iberia will begin operating its new route to the Brazilian city of Recife, where it will start operations with three weekly flights.
