IHG signs new Crowne Plaza hotel in New York
Global hospitality group InterContinental Hotels has announced the signing of a new 251-room Crowne Plaza hotel for New York City.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the new build property will be sited in Manhattan’s Garment District and next to Times Square South.
It will feature an a glass atrium at the entrance, meeting space, a fitness center, and restaurant and bar.
The hotel will also have Crowne Plaza brand’s ‘Always On’ service enhancements which center on seamless connectivity and wellness.
IHG will manage the hotel on behalf of owners LRR Holdings, LLC.
“This is a thriving market for hotel development and among the top destinations in the world for business and leisure travelers. We are pleased to expand our relationship with LRR Holdings, LLC, to grow the presence of our new and well-established brands in a priority market,” said Joel Eisemann, IHG’s chief development officer for the Americas.
In addition, IHG continues to grow the brand in the US with new openings planned during 2015 at the Crowne Plaza-Memphis East, Crowne Plaza-Pittsburgh West-Green Tree and Crowne Plaza-Stamford.
