Indiana hotel chemical leak sends 22 to hospital
Investigators are trying to find out what caused a carbon monoxide leak at a hotel near South Bend, Indiana hotel that sent 22 people to area hospitals.
A manager of the 25-room Country Inn & Suites in Mishawaka near South Bend called for emergency help when children collapsed in the dining area.
Carbon monoxide levels in the pool area near the dining room were several times the safe limit, Mishawaka Fire Department Capt. Joe Caledeone told the Associated Press.
All of those taken to the hospital were treated and released.
Most of those were children 4 to 14 years old.
The Country Inn made alternative arrangements for guests.
