India’s luxury trains to be upgraded
Rajasthan’s luxury trains, Palace on Wheels and Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, are being given a facelift.
Fresh facilities on the Palace on Wheels will include water purifiers in washrooms, modern communication and entertainment technology, and a makeover for the dining car, bar and lounge.
The spa and health club will also have major upgrades.
On the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, wooden floors will be covered with carpets to minimise noise and new doors will replace existing ones.
Train speeds will be increased so that guests spend less time on wheels and can enjoy more time at destinations.
Itineraries and tariffs for the trains will remain the same in 2013-14, said India’s Creative Travel.
