IndiGo adding new routes to Sri Lanka from two Indian cities
India’s largest airline by market share IndiGo will launch direct flights to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo starting next week.
It will link Colombo with daily flights from the southern cities of Chennai and Bengaluru.
It becomes IndiGo’s eight international destination and 49th city overall in its network.
"We are hopeful that these new flights will provide an affordable travel experience to our passengers across the country and beyond," said Sanjay Kumar, chief commercial officer.
Kumar announced that it has partnered with Hemas Leisure Travel Aviation Group as official sales agent in Sri Lanka for sales and distribution services.
The airline’s fleet has now grown to more than 150 aircraft operating up to 1,000 flights a day, a first for an Indian carrier.
