Interim role created as VisitBritain seeks new CEO

An interim role has been created by VisitBritain as the tourism organisation looks to recruit a new chief executive.
Â
The body’s 2012 Games strategy director Sandie Dawe is assuming the position of deputy chief executive and accounting officer.
Â
The interim position has been crated following the departure of former chief executive Tom Wright at the beginning of 2009.
Â
Dawe will take the role until a new CEO is in place.
Â
As accounting officer, she answers to the permanent secretary/accounting officer at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport for the financial accountability of VisitBritain and VisitEngland.
Â
VisitBritain’s newly appointed business services director, David Parkhill, will report to the deputy chief executive, while other directors continue to report to executive chairman Christopher Rodrigues.
