Intrepid Group woos the trade
The Intrepid Group is boosting its sales support for travel agents in 2014 after bringing various adventure brands under one roof.
Formed in October 2013, the Intrepid Group includes Intrepid Travel, The Adventure Company, Peregrine Adventures, Geckos Adventures and Adventure Tours Australia under combined management.
The group is recruiting six business development managers who will cross-sell its adventure tour brands – namely Geckos for younger travellers, The Adventure Company for families and Peregrine for those wanting a higher level of comfort.
Agents will now be able to earn commission on the full value of Geckos and Peregrines tours, including internal flights which were not previously commissionable.
Agents visits, training and incentives will also follow claims the operator.
Spencer Neal, former sales & operations manager for Peregrine and Geckos, is now Intrepid Group head of industry sales (UK, Ireland and Nordic).
Michael Edwards, Intrepid Group regional director for the UK, Europe & South Africa, said: "Currently, about half the Intrepid Group’s UK & Ireland sales are made through the trade, so supporting agents is already a really important part of our business but we plan to redouble our efforts."
