Intrepid Travel takes over Sydney The Rocks Pub Tour
In July 2008, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority called for expressions of interest from applicants interested in purchasing and operating The Rocks Pub Tour.
Intrepid Travel Australia applied for and was named the successful tenderer following an internal evaluation process conducted by the Foreshore Authority.
Intrepid Travel Australia will officially take over management and operation of The Rocks Pub Tour from Saturday 1st November 2008.
Fiona Hunt, General Manager of Intrepid Australia said, “Intrepid Travel is pleased to be the successful tenderer for The Rocks Pub Tour and is committed to working with Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority to ensure a smooth transition of business.”

Melanie Flanigan, Manager Tourism Marketing and Brand Development at the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority said “the Authority is delighted with this outcome as Intrepid is an operator who has demonstrated cultural and heritage sensitivities, as well as solid operational and marketing experience.”
Intrepid Travel Australia will incorporate The Rocks Pub Tour into its Urban Adventure Program which will see The Rocks precinct feature in Intrepid’s international and domestic marketing and distribution.
Intrepid Travel Australia intends to retain the historical and cultural focus and content of the tour.
Intrepid Travel Pty Ltd is an experienced operator with nearly 20 years experience operating and marketing trips worldwide. In 2009 Intrepid Travel will send around 85,000 passengers globally on 450 different Intrepid trips to over 95 countries.
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority owns and manages some of the State’s most significant assets, including Sydney’s heritage, cultural and entertainment precincts at The Rocks and Darling Harbour. It is also managing the renewal of Sydney’s newest harbour precinct, Barangaroo, on behalf of the NSW Government.
