Is that a snake in your pocket?
A traveller has reportedly been arrested at Australia’s Brisbane airport with some 19 snakes hidden inside his clothes.
According to the online news provider Ananova, the man had arrived on a flight from Singapore and was discovered to be carrying the snakes when customs officers found he was wearing a purpose-built vest under several layers of clothing.
The website quotes a customs spokesman, who reportedly told the Herald Sun newspaper: “Investigators then examined the vest and found 19 coloured pythons inside cigarette packets, which in turn had been placed inside a series of rectangular pockets.”
The 47-year old was reportedly charged with “importing regulated live specimens without a permit”.
