ITB coming to India
Travel trade fair operator Messe Berlin is expanding further in Asia with a new India focused event.
The inaugural ITB India takes place in April 2020 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
It will bring together travel industry leaders and buyers from cities across India, and international exhibitors from the leisure, corporate sectors and MICE sectors and will include a Hosted Buyers’ Programme.
It will become the company’s fourth venture after ITB Berlin, ITB Asia and ITB China.
"In recent years we have given the ITB brand an increasingly international dimension. From a global and regional perspective, India is a vast source market for the travel industry," said Christian Göke, CEO of Messe Berlin.
Messe Berlin (Singapore) will organise the event and backed by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
"Having successfully run eleven editions of ITB Asia, it is logical for us to progress to the next frontier of travel in Asia. India represents an extremely promising market with a growing purchasing power among travellers from the region," said Katrina Leung, MD of Messe Berlin (Singapore).
