Itb: why it pays the top global 100 green destinations to be green

A seminal event is happening at ITB this year.
The launch of the Green Destinations top 100 at ITB will herald in a new breed of destinations who address both the current and future needs of visitors, and of their own communities.
The list of destinations was released in December to provide a global platform for the exchange of good and effective practice.
It is the result of open calls in the social media, and a selection by 30 international tourism sustainability experts.

The ITB event will launch the new Green Destinations Community: destinations that will develop and monitor their strengths on the basis of the Global Sustainable Tourism Review (GSTR) and other innovative tools.
