Japan’s first MGallery by Sofitel coming to Kyoto
AccorHotels has sealed a deal to bring its MGallery by Sofitel brand to Kyoto, Japan.
Slated to open in late 2018, the 144-room MGallery by Sofitel Kyoto will be located close to the famed Geisha district of Gion and becomes Japan’s first MGallery.
It is sited next to Sanjo Kiehan Station and ideally located to discover the best cultural experiences of Kyoto, the company said.
Sanjo is also one of the most vibrant dining and shopping districts in the city
"We are excited to offer our guests a beautiful boutique hotel which will be infused with the spirit of Kyoto at a time when Japan is enjoying high tourism growth," said Patrick Basset, AccorHotels COO for Upper SE and NE Asia.
"We are confident that the inbound market, especially from Asian countries such as China and Korea, will continue to grow."
MGallery is one of Accor’s fastest growing sub-brands and currently has a portfolio of 91 hotels open in 25 countries.
