JetBlue announces new DC flights
JetBlue plans to launch three new services from Washington Reagan National Airport and add frequency on a fourth route.
The carrier will begin flying twice daily to Hartford and Charleston and one flight year-round to Nassau, Bahamas, subject to regulatory approval, starting June 19.
JetBlue will also add a second daily flight to Tampa, Florida on July 2.
These six daily flights make up half of the new flight slots the airline was awarded in the wake of the American Airlines-US Airways merger.
The new merged airline was required to divest 104 slots, or 52 round trips at National Airport as part of the deal.
JetBlue said it will make a future announcement later this year concerning its remaining slots, which will take its daily departure count at the airport to 30 flights a day.
To celebrate the new services, the airline announced special introductory one-way fares to Hartford from $30 and to Charleston for $44.
