Jetset Travelworld Cruise Consortium Conference
The Jetset Travelworld Group Cruise Consortium Conference kicked off on Wednesday night with a dinner at the beautiful Sebel Pier One in Sydney’s Rocks district.
Over 150 delegates attended the dinner along with special guests Steve Odell, Chairman of the ICCA and Sarina Bratton, Founder and Managing Director of Orion Expedition Cruises.
The dinner ran like clockwork under the expert hand of Jetset Travelworld star Monica McAninly, Manager Cruise Program, who delighted the crowd by keeping everything on time and in good humour.
The big winner on the night was Perry Morecambe of Seniors Holiday Travel Brisbane, (seen here with John Molinaro of P&O) who accepted multiple awards.
A clear reason for the focus on Cruising was tabled by Steve Odell when he informed the room that since 2002, there has been a 60% growth in Cruise sales in this region with an 18% jump last year alone. This compares with a 6.8% growth globally.
New Jetset Travelworld CEO Michael Reed addressed the crowd at the end of the evening, stating that he was extremely happy to be back amongst the agent community with many familiar faces in the group.
He stated that this was a business going places, with strong brands that had untapped potential. He further said that the group was excited by the future growth of the cruise sector and that there would be a strong focus on the product category going forward.
Thurday’s product sessions were closed to the media, as presentations were specifically designed for Jetset Travelworld agents.
