Jetstar Asia is expected to announce this week that Chong Phiat Lian is stepping down as chief executive officer.
Ms Chong, 58, joined the Singapore-based joint venture in 2006 after working for government entities for many years.
Rumours have been rife for several weeks of her likely departure.
The airline will launch a search for a new boss.
