Hotels4u.com sales and marketing director John Harding is to retire in December after 50 years in the travel industry.
Former ABTA president Harding spent much of his career as sales director for now defunct short breaks operator Travelscene.
Teresa Walsh has been confirmed as new sales and marketing director for Thomas Cook-owned bed bank hotels4u.com along with medhotels.com and transfers4u.com.
She has been acting in the role since February when she joined from lastminute.com where she was head of sales.
Reporting to managing director Haim Perry, Walsh will be responsible for management of the sales and support teams.
Walsh was formerly head of sales at First Choice and has more than 13 years experience in travel, sales and marketing.
Perry said: “While we are sad to see John retire, having helped grow the business to its current position as the UK’s largest bedbank, we are confident Teresa’s strong sales and travel background as well as her online experience with lastminute.com will enable her to drive both brands forward in the fast-moving accommodation only market.”
Walsh said: “The dynamic packaging market is one of the fastest growing industries in travel and one that is constantly evolving.
“I’m therefore delighted to be given this opportunity to drive the growth and sales of the UK’s leading accommodation only and transfers provider and am looking forward to using the experience gained from my seven months here to cement our number one status.”
