Just the ticket: Free rail days in Europe
Rail Europe is urging travel agents to add more value for their clients by passing on to them discounts and free travel days when they book certain European rail passes by the end of April.
For travellers heading to the Mediterranean, agents booking their rail passes can pass on the free additional travel day on the France-Italy Eurail Pass, France-Spain Eurail Pass and the Italy-Spain Eurail Pass.
Bookings must be made by April 30 and used within six months after the issue date.
Travel can be in first or second class and the validity of the passes must be between four and 10 days to be used within two months.
Agents booking their clients on German Rail Pass by April 30 can pass on up to 20% off in either first or second class.
For a five-day German Rail Pass to be used within one month, a 10% discount applies and for a 10-day German Rail Pass to be used within one month, a 20% discount applies. However, travel must be completed by May 31.
Agents booking their clients on more extensive European itineraries, including the 15-day, 21-day or a one month Eurail Global Pass, can pass on two, three and five additional travel days for free respectively.
Bookings must be made by March 31 and passes validated within six months of issue.
Rail Europe tickets are distributed by Rail Plus, Rail Tickets, CIT Holidays and Infinity Rail in Australia, and Rail Plus and Go Holidays in New Zealand.
